Optional Google Analytics

ModelRailroad.Network uses Google Analytics to understand which pages and tools people use and to improve the website. Analytics loads only after you select Accept analytics. Declining does not prevent you from using the site. Use Analytics cookie settings at the bottom of any page to change your choice or withdraw consent.

When enabled, Analytics receives page visits, navigation between site pages, and actions such as opening an editor, requesting a print, using filters, or requesting a backup or restore. Action counts represent interactions, not confirmation that a save, restore, payment, or print succeeded.

Google also processes browser and device information, cookie identifiers, and network information, including your IP address when connecting to its servers. We do not send layout names, roster records, commodities, notes, backup contents, form values, or filter text in our custom events. Our tracking uses fixed page paths and omits URL queries, fragments, and referrer information. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in our website configuration.

Google processes information on its servers, which may be outside your country. See how Google uses data from sites using its services and Google's Privacy Policy. You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Cookies and browser storage

With consent, Google Analytics uses first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visits. Our tag sets a cookie lifetime of 180 days without extending it on each visit. We remember your analytics choice and its time in MRNAnalyticsConsent in this browser for up to 180 days before asking again. This preference storage is used even if you decline, to remember your choice.

Withdrawing consent stops future Analytics collection and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site. It does not remove data previously received by Google. Clearing browser storage also resets your preference and may erase locally saved layout data, so back up your layouts first.

Layout Operations and the original Car Cards use browser storage to save your cards, layouts, engines, industries, and waybills. These records are not uploaded through our custom analytics. Backup files are downloaded to your device and restore reads the file you select.

Other services

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Hosting and external resources such as script libraries may process request information needed to deliver the site, independently of optional Analytics. Donation links take you to PayPal, which handles payments under its own privacy policy. We do not send payment details through our custom analytics.
